HÖRMANN Warnsysteme has installed a new siren warning system in Bad Reichenhall, a large German district town in the Upper Bavarian Alps. The town's location in the mountains influences the sound propagation, which is why a precise sound propagation forecast was carried out in advance. Another special feature is the installation of the four new sirens on 20 m high masts. This required extensive earthworks for the large foundations. In addition, an existing siren on a school was retrofitted. The siren warning system is integrated into the federal TETRA BOS digital radio network in addition to the analog 5-tone triggering. The control center is thus able to trigger the sirens via both channels. Alternatively, local triggering directly at the siren is also possible.
